After overindulging on Turkey Day– gobbling down gluten-filled goodies that I normally avoid– I wisely resumed my gluten-free diet this past Monday. Sure, I feel better– no bloating; no churning and tossing, rumblings or grumblings. But, damn! this diet can be a royal pain in the ass to follow (especially when you’re craving junk food), as there’s gluten in practically all convenience/pre-packaged foods. Please, let’s not even mention beer– and my fondness for New Castle. *whimper*
So, with NO wheat/oats/rye/barley, what’s a Contessa to look forward to?
Well, let me tell ‘ya– I’m singing the praises of the puffed, cheese-dusted corn delights better known as Cheetos, and I’m down on my knees giving glory to Chopin (the potato vodka, not the composer!).
Now, if I can just make it through December without touchin’ the one-inch-thick frosted sugar cookies, the chocolate-dipped pretzel sticks, and the freakin’ chex mix…
(Lord, give me strength!)
