I was such a terrible singer that during our school choirs the nuns told me not to sing, just lip sync the words.

How ironic– I began lip syncing in eighth grade (due to Sister Mary Grace’s insistence that ALL eighth grade girls were sopranos). Trust me, I was not a soprano (but damn!, if she couldn’t pick my voice out if I dropped down one octave). It became easier just to lip sync (she was “nun” the wiser!).
