Because I have no friends…

i decided to read along with Oprah’s book club.  i’m guessing, in order to actually be social, i should join one of the on-line discussion groups.  because this is what people with no real friends do… yes?

(ETA:  reality check– is being a member of Oprah’s book club MORE lame than not having real friends… ?)

here today, gone tomorrow

i’m in a pissy mood.  brought on, no doubt, by yet another death.  to be honest, i’m not sad that i saw your father smiling so brightly yesterday afternoon.  i am, however, saddened by the realization that i was one of the very few to witness what was, most likely, one of his very last smiles.  you deserved that smile, not me.  cancer.  it’s a fucking, heartless bitch.

if the best of all possible worlds were reality, there’d be no cancer.

P. S.  needless to say, your post didn’t sit very well with me today.
